After my second cup of coffee for the day… I couldn’t think of a better way to introduce myself and my blog to the world, then my take on the #kimye vogue article. At first I wasn like most individuals that follow this crazy world you call the fashion industry, and wasn’t taken a back by Anna Wintors decision to place Kim and Kanye on the vogue April cover. At first I was going to buy the issue, but then curiosity got the best of me. First let me start by saying the styling and photography are brilliant, Kim looks flaws in wedding dresses by the likes of Nina Ricci, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Schiaparelli Haute Couture, Lanvin, and the holy grail of all wedding dresses a feathery ivory dream made by Alexander McQueen. Kanye wears his signature prada leather pants throughout the photos and pairs them with designers like Fear of god, Alternative Apparel, Uma Wang, and his all time favorite designer brand Louis Vuitton.
The Article is a sneak peek into the life of kim and kanye, better known as Kimye. It ranges from first gifts (which were a pair of Margiela boots back in 2008) to which Kim then asked kanye “What is Margiela?”, A first date, where Kim and Kanye had burgers at In-N-Out. It also touches on that massive compound the power couple is building. Kanye is quoted in the article by saying ” Kim is like a fantasy, period.” “She’s like a dream girl. And I think a dream girl should live in a dream world”.All in all the article is full of fantasy and glamour, it’s a beautifully written piece and very entertaining .I admire the loyalty Kanye has for Kim, he set out to get Kim a Vogue cover and got her one… It doesn’t tell us more then we already didn’t know about this power couple, but it’s definitely worth a read. Whether you love these two or hate them, you have to respect the empire they are building. Never the less it definitely gave vogue a boost in sells and has the world talking even more about #kimye.
